2024-25:
Picked up 11 singles wins and nine doubles wins… Played much of the season at No. 2 Singles… Named to MVC Scholar-Athlete Second Team… Earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors… Started the fall season with a 7-0 record… Won the Flight 4 Singles crown at Illinois State’s Redbird Invitational with victories over UIC, Marquette and Bradley… Beat Bradley and UIC at the MVC Individual Championships to take third place in Flight 3 Singles… Picked up wins over SIUE and Milwaukee at No. 3 Singles early in the spring season… Won six of her first seven doubles matches to start the fall season, playing alongside Brynn Steven… Took third in Flight 3 Doubles at the Redbird Invitational… Won the quarterfinal round doubles match against Missouri State in Flight 3 at the MVC Individual Championships… Teamed up with Moira Silva for No. 1 doubles wins in conference dual matches against Belmont and Illinois State… Earned Valparaiso University Presidential Academic honors.

2023-24: Picked up 15 singles wins and 12 doubles wins during her first season at Valpo... Won each of her first six singles matches of the fall... Won her first-round qualifying match at the ITA Midwest Regional and earned a Round-1 win in doubles in that event in October... Achieved a conference doubles win vs. UNI on April 7.

Prep: Long list of achievements on the International Tennis Federation circuit, including the following – J5 ITF singles champion in Quito, J5 ITF doubles semifinalist in Quito, J5 ITF singles finalist in Managua, J5 ITF doubles champion in Managua, J5 ITF singles and doubles semifinalist in Managua, J4 ITF singles and doubles quarterfinalist in Victoria and J5 ITF doubles finalist in Kingston… Fernandes reached an ITF Junior career-high ranking of 663 on Jan. 3, 2023. She has been ranked No. 3 in U18 Singles in Alberta, No. 6 in U18 Doubles in Alberta and No. 28 in U18 Singles in all of Canada.

Personal: Enjoyed recreational figure skating when she was younger… Dedicated 13 years to playing the piano and received honors in Levels 6, 7 and 8 through the Royal Conservatory of Music…. Has traveled to eight different countries to compete in tennis tournaments… Majoring in nursing… Mother is a nurse.
