Adam Brian joined the Valpo baseball coaching staff prior to the 2024 season as a volunteer assistant coach and was promoted to a full-time assistant coaching role prior to the 2025 campaign. 

During the 2026 season while serving as the catching instructor, Brian coached Eli Riley, who finished fourth in the Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year voting. Riley, who caught every inning of every game, ranked in the top 10 nationally by cutting down 25 runners attempting to steal, the most by a Valpo catcher since 2013. Riley ranked eighth in the league with 319 putouts. As a team, Valpo tied for the league lead and ranked in the top 20 nationally by catching 27 runners trying to steal.

Brian joined Valpo’s staff prior after closing out his playing career at Bradley University in 2023. A catcher for the Braves, Brian earned the Phil Kaiser Memorial Award as the best teammate in 2022 and was a team captain in 2023.

Brian serves as Valpo's catching coach while also assisting with pitching and recruiting.
