Alexis Johnson joined the Valparaiso University Campus Recreation & Well-Being team in Summer 2024 as a graduate assistant for fitness and wellness.

In her role, Johnson leads group fitness programs, is in charge of social media and marketing platforms, assists with payroll for student employees and provides direct supervision of the fitness center staff including hiring, scheduling and training student instructors.

Johnson was a Valpo student-athlete as a member of the softball program from August 2020 to May 2024. Johnson has served as baseball/softball instructor at D-Batz in Schererville, Ind. since May 2024 and previously worked as an assistant coach for the Teflon Travel Softball team.

A May 2024 Valparaiso University graduate with a degree in psychology, Johnson plans to once again graduate from Valpo in May 2026 with her master’s in sports administration.
