A fixture in Valpo Athletics since 1998, Candy Jessen was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics for Business Services in September 2017 and promoted again to Associate Director of Athletics for Business Services in December 2021. Jessen previously served as the department’s administrative assistant (2003-2017), recruiting secretary (2001-2003) and football administrative assistant. She serves as the department's Senior Woman Administrator (SWA). 

In her role, Jessen provides thoughtful management of the department’s financial resources and oversees the department’s budget. She has deep knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, expertise in the administrative and financial processes of the University and a strong commitment to the mission of the Valparaiso University Athletic Department.

Jessen also serves as the sport administrator for the tennis and bowling programs and is a member of the department's senior staff. She has oversight of the department's administrative assistants as well as the event management and facilities staff.
