Dale Linderwell

Dale Linderwell joined the Valpo women's basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach in the summer of 2025 and enters his second season on staff in 2026-27. Linderwell has enjoyed success on the bench alongside Beacon head coach Courtney Boyd for each of her nine seasons as a head coach.

In his first season at Valpo in 2025-26, Allia von Schlegell earned a spot on the MVC All-Freshman Team as she finished with the third-highest scoring season by a freshman in program history. Fiona Connolly saw a 9.2 points/game improvement in her scoring average, the second-highest jump by a Valpo player in the last two decades.

At Clarke, Linderwell was on staff as the Pride won the NAIA national championship in 2022-23. Clarke won 155 games in Linderwell's six seasons as an assistant coach, winning at least 20 games every season and surpassing the 30-win mark twice. The Pride earned bids to the NAIA Tournament five times, advancing to the round of 16 all four years the tournament was played and making three appearances in the national quarterfinals.

When Boyd became head coach at Quincy prior to the 2023-24 season, Linderwell joined her coaching staff there as well. He helped the Hawks to a 25-8 record in 2024-25, a 15-win improvement over the prior season, as they captured their first GLVC tournament title since 2005, had their best GLVC regular season finish since 2011 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016.

Prior to joining the collegiate coaching ranks, Linderwell spent nine years coaching high school basketball in Iowa. A track and field athlete at Iowa Wesleyan during his college years, he earned the NAIA Champion of Character Award during his sophomore season. Linderwell graduated from Iowa Wesleyan in 2008 with a degree in sport management and business marketing and went on to earn his MBA from Clarke.
