Jesse Delorit will join the Valpo softball program as an assistant coach ahead of the 2027 season.
Delorit most recently coached for two seasons alongside Valpo head coach Mike Armitage at MSU Moorhead as an assistant coach. In his second season in 2023, Delorit helped the Dragons to a 22-win improvement over the previous season and the program's first winning season in 16 years. The 2023 MSUM team set program single-season records for runs scored, RBIs and on-base percentage.
Prior to his time at MSUM, Delorit was on staff for seven seasons as an assistant coach at Bethel [Minn.]. Working primarily with the program's outfielders and catchers, Delorit guided four All-Conference selections at those positions. He was a member of the coaching staff which led the 2015 Royals to the MIAC regular season championship. Delorit also has experience coaching at the high school level at Bloomington Jefferson H.S. and Eagan H.S.
Delorit played men's fastpitch softball for 24 years as a catcher at the major level, including time with Team USA. He was a member of teams which won an ISC World Championship, two ASA Men's Major titles and five NAFA championships. Individually, Delorit was an All-American, a ISC All-World Team selection, earned multiple NAFA First Team honors and was named to the 20th Anniversary NAFA All-Tournament Team.
