He arrived at Valpo with experience raising funds for a Missouri Valley Conference institution as he served as the Assistant Director of Annual Giving for Athletics at the University of Evansville from 2023 to March 2025.
In his first year at Valpo, McCoart played a role in a successful Valpo Day 2025, the University's annual Day of Giving, raising over $227,000, a 133 percent increase from the previous year.
During his time at Evansville, McCoart led comprehensive annual giving initiatives and directed the athletics-specific giving week, achieving a record-breaking total in gifts and challenge funds, marking a 135 percent increase from the previous record, through a strategic, multi-channel communication plan. He managed a portfolio of donors, cultivating and securing annual fund contributions. In addition, he oversaw donor stewardship efforts, delivering benefits through Purple Aces Club memberships, gameday hospitality and exclusive donor events. He also directed all aspects of the Purple Aces Hall of Fame event, managing marketing, sponsorship, ticket sales, awards, acknowledgments and budget oversight.
Prior to his arrival at Evansville, McCoart served as the public relations director for Isaiah House, Inc. from 2020-2023. He spearheaded public relations efforts for Kentucky's largest nonprofit substance use disorder treatment provider, strengthening community partnerships and enhancing brand awareness through data-driven marketing and alumni storytelling. In addition to his previously Missouri Valley Conference experience, McCoart previously worked in the Pioneer Football League, as he got his start in athletics as a media relations assistant at Morehead State University from 2018-2020 after graduating from Morehead State with a degree emphasis in sport management and mass communications.
