The #RV Valparaiso University bowling team kicked off the Columbia 300 Saints Invitational in Chesterfield, Mo. on Friday, capping the day by posting one of the top five-game baker performances in program history.
How It Happened
- Valpo opened tournament play Friday against Lincoln (Mo.) and easily claimed the opener, winning by a 998-823 final.
- Valpo dropped its next three matches, falling to #2 Nebraska (1046-915), #15 Lincoln Memorial (1006-880) and #1 McKendree (1022-847).
- Valpo closed the day on a high note, taking down Drury by a final score of 1018-914. The 203.6 average was the 10th-best in a five-game baker match in program history.
- The Brown and Gold closed the opening day of action in eighth place in the 12-team field with 4,658 total pins, just 55 pins out of seventh position.
Valpo (28-40) continues action from Maryville’s tournament on Saturday with traditional team matches.
