The #19 Valpo bowling team will enter the final day of action at the Red Flash Invitational in Altoona, Pa. with a chance to walk away with the tournament title after registering three wins Saturday on the second day of action.

How It Happened

• Valpo opened Saturday’s action, contested in the baker format, against Morgan State and started out on a winning note, earning an 888-837 victory.
• The Beacons fell in the second match slot to #15 Mount St. Mary’s, 1006-972, despite posting their best match score of the day.
• Valpo bounced back with a win in its third match, taking down Pitt-Greensburg by a 912-758 final.
• The Beacons dropped a 980-903 decision to #8 Duquesne in the fourth match slot, but closed out the day victorious, claiming a 957-858 win over Saint Vincent.
• Valpo closed the day in third place out of the 10 competing teams, posting a total pinfall of 9,236 pins through two days of action.

Next Up

Valpo (38-22) closes out action from the Red Flash Invitational on Sunday with bracket play. A trio of wins on Sunday would make the Beacons tournament champions.
