It was a perfect day in the win/loss column for the #19 Valpo bowling team on Saturday in its second day of hosting the Valpo Bowling Classic at Stardust Bowl III in Dyer, as the Beacons racked up four victories.

How It Happened
- Saturday's action, contested in the traditional team format, pitted the Beacons against #16 Maryland Eastern Shore — the tournament's highest ranked team — to open the day, and Valpo came away with a 916-847 victory, led by a 199 game from senior Alli Eible (Burton, Mich./Kearsley).
- Eible led the Beacons in their second match as well, helping lift Valpo to a 917-870 win over Aurora with a 208 game.
- Valpo had a bye in its third match slot, during which both of its seniors broke 200, as Eible rolled a 217 and Lilu Smith (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) posted a 211.
- The Beacons cruised to a 931-716 win over Elmhurst in their next contest, with sophomore Payton Rowley (Stewartville, Minn./Stewartville) rolling the team's high game of the day, a 233.
- Rowley led Valpo in the day's finale too, recording a 218 game in an 888-839 victory over Carroll.
- Eible and Smith were the only Beacons to start all five games Saturday, as head coach John Martin used the home tournament as a way to start 10 different bowlers at least once. Eible ranked sixth among bowlers who started all five games with a 192.4 average, while Rowley averaged a 210.7 over her three starts.
- The Beacons closed the day with a pinfall of 8,924, good for third place in the seven-team field. UMES sits atop the team standings with 9,197 pins.
