The #19 Valpo bowling team earned a pair of victories in bracket play on Sunday at the MOTIV Ladyjack Classic in Kenosha, Wis., finishing the tournament in 12
th place.

How It Happened
- Valpo opened the day, contested in the best-of-seven baker format, against #15 Newman. The Beacons edged the Jets by five pins in each of the first two games, propelling them to a 4-0 sweep in the opening match.
- With the win, Valpo advanced into a matchup against #RV Lewis. Valpo rolled its best game of the day in game two, a 223, on its way to a 2-2 tie through four games. The Beacons posted a 205 in game five to go ahead, 3-2, before the Flyers forced the decisive seventh game. It was Valpo which came through in the final game with a 212 to earn the 4-3 win and advance in the bracket.
- The Beacons faced off for 11th place with #21 McKendree. Valpo took the opening game and was within one pin of evening up the match at two games apiece, but McKendree ended up registering a 4-1 win.
