The Valparaiso University Department of Athletics has announced that the contract of head football coach Landon Fox, which expired at the conclusion of the 2024 season, will not be renewed.
The program compiled a 21-42 record (.333) during Fox's six seasons at the helm.
"I am grateful for everything that Landon has done for our football program," Director of Athletics Laurel Hosmer said. "He possesses one of the best Pioneer Football League IQs out there and has worked tirelessly to build the program to where it is now. The timing is right for us to think about the next stage for Valpo Football."
Following the Spring 2021 season, Fox was a finalist for the Eddie Robinson Award, which is presented annually to the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) National Coach of the Year, after leading the team to its best winning percentage since 2003. He recruited and coached 54 All-Pioneer Football League honorees and 28 academic All-PFL selections during his first five seasons, with 2024 league honors set to be released in the coming weeks.
Valpo Athletics has partnered with Bowlsby Sports Advisors for a nationwide search for the program's next head coach. RJ Ghilarducci, who has been part of the Valpo coaching staff for the last five seasons including the 2024 campaign as assistant head coach, will serve as interim head coach to oversee the day-to-day operations of the program until the search for the program's next head coach is complete.
