The #19 Valpo bowling team continued action at the MOTIV Ladyjack Classic Saturday in Kenosha, Wis. with a quintet of traditional team matches.

How It Happened
- The Beacons opened the day against #24 Oklahoma Christian and rolled their way to an 873-831 win, led by a 208 game from junior Jen Patz (Naples, Fla./Naples).
- Valpo posted its best single-match score of the day in the second match slot, but came up just short against the tournament hosts, falling 1052-1036 to #11 Stephen F. Austin. Sophomore Maia Struble (Anchorage, Alaska/Dimond) surpassed her previous collegiate best, leading the Beacons with a 244 game, while classmate Alexis Wooley (Fort White, Fla./Fort White) notched a 216.
- Valpo dropped an 1152-924 decision to #5 Nebraska in its third match of the day despite a 212 game from sophomore Payton Rowley (Stewartville, Minn./Stewartville) and a 200 by Struble.
- Wooley rolled a 207 in the fourth match slot to pace the Beacons as they fell 930-878 to #RV Lewis.
- Patz capped the day with a 213 and Struble surpassed 200 for the third time on the day with a 208 in a 995-927 loss to #2 Arkansas State in the fifth and final match slot.
- Patz posted the team's top average on Saturday, a 195.6 over the five games.
- Valpo ended the day with a two-day pinfall of 9,193 pins, good for 13th place out of the 17 competing teams.
