A pair of rising juniors from the Valpo softball program received Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators on Tuesday, as
Kayden Krug (Milford, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) and
Sydney McDermott (Stout, Ohio/Portsmouth West) were recognized for their work in the classroom.

Krug, who was named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team earlier this month, owns a 3.931 cumulative GPA as an elementary education major. McDermott boasts a 3.667 cumulative GPA as a health science (pre-PA) major.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District recognition, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically with at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Softball position players must have played at least 90% or started at least 66% of the team's games, while pitchers must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched at least 35 innings.
