The Valparaiso University women's golf team continued the Missouri Valley Conference Championship on Monday at the par-72, 5954-yard TPC at Deere Run course in Silvis, Ill. Redshirt junior Katelyn McCoy (Chesterton, Ind. / Chesterton) made a big improvement from her Round-1 score and paced the team in Round 2.
 
How It Happened

• McCoy carded an 82, making an eight-stroke improvement and moving up four spots on the player leaderboard. She birdied the Par-4 fifth hole.
• Freshman Katie Estridge (Biloxi, Miss. / Biloxi) has been Valpo's most consistent player thus far at the MVC Championship. She made a one-stroke improvement to card an 84 on Monday, giving her a team-best 169 (t-41^st) through 36 holes. The rookie drained back-to-back birdies on 15 and 16 and was under par for her first seven holes of the day.
• Freshman Nora Meek (Beavercreek, Ohio / Beavercreek) moved the right direction by five strokes on Monday. She turned in an 86.
• Valpo bettered its team score by four strokes with a 342 on Day 2 of action.
• Bradley (610) has a 12-stroke lead on Murray State for the team crown with 18 holes to play, while Belmont's Sloane Biddle owns a four-stroke lead for medalist honors entering Tuesday's final round.

"While the weather was an improvement, we still have some work to do tomorrow. Katelyn, Katie and Nora made good strides today. We're hoping we can put together one last good team score tomorrow."
