Senior Chante Dixon (Benoni, South Africa / Kempton Park [UTSA]) added to the Valparaiso University track & field team's point total as she was a point scorer with her performances in the 1500- and 5000-meter races during Sunday's final day of the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships in Terre Haute, Ind.
 
How It Happened

• Dixon finished seventh in the 1500 finals, crossing the finish line in 4:30.06 to establish a personal record. Her performance scored two points for the Valpo women in the team standings. She improved her own PR that already ranked second in the program record book.
• Dixon scored three more points in the 5000, crossing the finish line in a personal best of 17:25.02, placing sixth to achieve three points for the squad. Her 26-second PR climbed her to third in program history. She outdid Maranda Donahue's 2023 time of 17:25.17 for Valpo's fastest outdoor 5000 since 2006.
• Valpo had a top-10 finish and two in the top 12 on the men's side of the 1500, as freshmen Braden Hoff (New Lenox, Ill. / Lincoln-Way Central) and Joey Yaros (Bloomington, Ill. / Normal Community) both ran in Sunday's final after posting qualifying times on Saturday. Hoff placed 10^th in 4:01.41 with Yaros 12^th at 4:05.41.
• In the women's heptathlon, senior Katie Koryczan (Crown Point, Ind. / Crown Point [Purdue Northwest]) accrued 4,030 points, the second-best heptathlon showing in program history and best since Karie Dahlgren's 1999 record of 4,660.
• The Valpo men finished 10^th with 10 points, while the women tied for 10^th with eight points.
