Five Beacons Earn 2025-26 CSC At-Large Academic All-District Honors

Five Valparaiso University student-athletes were recognized with Academic All-District honors in the at-large category by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.
 
Bowlers Payton Rowley (Stewartville, Minn./Stewartville) and Angela Webber (Harvest, Ala./Sparkman) earned the honor along with men's golfers Adam Melliere (Zionsville, Ind. / Zionsville) and Ryan Somerville (Aurora, Ontario / Aurora) and women's golfer Katelyn McCoy (Chesterton, Ind. / Chesterton).
 
Rowley recently completed her junior year with a 3.79 cumulative grade point average in psychology and sports management, while Webber finished out her junior year with a 3.93 in physics. Melliere finished his junior year with a 3.83 cumulative GPA in finance, while Somerville was a redshirt junior this past season and owns a 3.87 in finance. McCoy, who completed her senior season this spring and will return to the team as a fifth-year senior, boasts a 3.53 in nursing.
 
McCoy and Melliere each earned this honor for the second straight year.  
 
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District recognition, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically with at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA and must meet participation criteria specific to their sport.
