After a successful week on the pitch, the Valparaiso University soccer team netted a pair of weekly accolades from the Missouri Valley Conference on Tuesday as sophomore Kiara Desiderio (St. John, Ind. / Hanover) was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week and senior Daisy Boardman (Warrington, Cheshire, England / Bridgwater) was tabbed the league's Defender of the Week.
 
Boardman played 170 of a possible 180 minutes at right back as Valpo gave up just one goal over two wins last week. She picked up an assist on a goal versus Oakland.
 
Desiderio had multiple goal involvements in both wins last week, netting a brace against Oakland and recording a goal and an assist versus Southern Indiana. She has now had multiple goal involvements in three matches this season and five for her career, including three career braces.
 
Desiderio was named the MVC Player of the Week for the second time in her career and earned her third career weekly honor, while Boardman achieved her first career honor.
