Biography

2023: Played in seven games and made five starts, missing four games due to an injury... Had 17 tackles including 14 solos and 0.5 tackles for loss... Forced a fumble in the Nov. 18 season finale at St. Thomas... Had a season-high six tackles on Oct. 14 vs. Morehead State.

2022: Played in all 12 games... Recorded 22 tackles (16 solos), had 1.5 TFL, two fumble recoveries, five pass breakups and an interception... Had a fumble recovery for a touchdown on Sept. 10 at Illinois State... Also had an interception in the Sept. 10 game against the Redbirds... Had a season-high five tackles on Oct. 29 at Dayton... Recovered a fumble on Nov. 5 vs. St. Thomas.

Fall 2021: Did not see game action.

Prep: Two-year varsity letter winner… Helped his team go 6-0 in the regular season and finish as a regional runner-up as a senior… Passed for 77 yards and rushed for 127 in a game against Centerville as a junior… Also competed in one year of basketball and three years of track & field… Earned honor roll every year of high school.

Personal: Majoring in mechanical engineering… Son of Sheryl and Jay Rao… Has two sisters, Jailyn and Braelynn… Interests including lifting, fishing and music.
