Danny Files returned to his alma mater as an assistant offensive line coach in 2025. He is entering his second season in 2026.
During his first season at Valpo, the position group that Files helped coach boasted an All-PFL Honorable Mention recipient, an Academic All-PFL performer and the team’s Offensive Player of the Year. The offensive line paved the way as Valpo averaged 7.8 yards per carry in the 2025 season opener, breaking a program record of 7.4 that had stood since 1992. The offensive line also blocked for Rowan Keefe’s 80-yard run in the season finale at rival Butler, Valpo’s longest run since 2022, the longest rush by any PFL player all season and the fifth longest run by a quarterback nationally in 2025.
Files graduated from Valpo in May 2023 with a bachelor’s in sport management and minor in business administration. After appearing in 24 games over four seasons at Valpo, Files graduate transferred and finished out his playing career at Coastal Carolina.
