Kier, Murphy Receive MVC Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention

A pair of Valparaiso University women’s golfers earned Honorable Mention status as the Missouri Valley Conference unveiled its Scholar-Athlete team on Thursday. Junior Morgan Kier (Brownsburg, Ind. / Brownsburg) and sophomore Maddison Murphy (Bloomington, Ill. / University) were both recognized for their academic and athletic achievements.

Women’s Golf Wraps Up Play at MVC Championship

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team concluded its 2020-2021 season on Tuesday afternoon at the MVC Championships, hosted at the par-71, 5987-yard Bogey Hills Country Club in St. Charles, Mo. The Valparaiso University women’s golf team opened up the Missouri Valley Conference Championship by golfing the first two rounds of the event on Monday at the par-71, 5987-yard Bogey Hills Country Club in St. Charles, Mo. Women’s Golf Climbs to Third on Team Leaderboard

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team competed in its final round prior to the Missouri Valley Conference Championship on Saturday as the team closed out the Redbird Invitational, hosted by Illinois State at the par-72, 6010-yard Weibring Golf Club in Normal, Ill. Valpo shaved 10 strokes off its second-round score in Round 3, posting its best 18-hole score of the season on Saturday. In the process, the Brown & Gold overtook MVC foe Loyola for third on the team leaderboard.


Kier Leads Valpo on First Day in Normal

Junior Morgan Kier (Brownsburg, Ind. / Brownsburg) led the Valparaiso University women’s golf team on Friday during the first two rounds of the Redbird Invitational, hosted by Illinois State at the par-72, 6010-yard Weibring Golf Club in Normal, Ill. Kier went sub-80 in both rounds, helping Valpo finish Round 2 with its best 18-hole team score this season.


Hodson Cards Season Best on Final Day at Indiana State

Junior Payton Hodson (Middleton, Wis. / Middleton) led the Valparaiso University women’s golf team at the Indiana State University Spring Invitational on Monday at the par-72, 5900-yard Country Club of Terre Haute. Hodson helped the Brown & Gold improve its team score from Round 1 with her best score of the season in Monday’s second round.

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team began the Indiana State University Spring Invitational on Sunday as freshman Carly Schiene (Mokena, Ill. / Lincoln-Way Central) paced the team in Round 1 of the event, which is taking place at the par-72, 5900-yard Country Club of Terre Haute.

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team teed off its spring season on Monday at the Missouri State Spring Invitational.
