How It Happened
- Silva and Tanner downed the SIUE combination of Mya Bowe and Chloe Koons in an opening-round doubles match on Friday morning.
- The Beacon top tandem gave the Marquette pair of Emma Davis and Joelle A Fiallo Schad all they could handle in a Round of 32 doubles match later in the day, but the Marquette duo prevailed on a breaker 8-7(0).
- The win over SIUE was Silva's 101st in her career combined between singles and doubles as she recently hit the three-figure milestone. It marked her 47th career doubles win, moving her into a tie for seventh in program history with Kate Evangelist (2003-2007).
- Silva participated in the singles main draw on Friday afternoon and faced off with conference foe Edit Cosmo (UIC) in a three-set cliffhanger. Cosmo prevailed in a dramatic 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 match.
- The Valpo duos of Delgado/Rogers (8-3 to Western Michigan) and Fernandes/Steven (8-2 to Wisconsin) dropped their opening-round doubles matches.
