The #21 Valpo bowling team will have the chance to play for a tournament title on Sunday, as the Beacons continued their strong weekend at the Bearcat Invitational with an undefeated day on the lanes Saturday.

How It Happened
- Valpo opened the day, contested in the traditional team format, against UIndy and picked up a 939-815 win to get things started. Maia Struble (Anchorage, Alaska/Dimond) led the way for the Beacons in the opening win with a 215 game.
- The Beacons had a bye in the second match slot, but the lack of opponent didn't slow them down, as they posted a 982 score. Angela Webber (Harvest, Ala./Sparkman) paced Valpo in that match slot with a career-best 247 game, while Struble broke 200 for the second straight game with a 217.
- The return to head-to-head competition in the third match slot brought another Valpo win, as the Beacons downed #20 Wright State, 998-910. Webber led the Beacons with a 225, while Payton Rowley (Stewartville, Minn./Stewartville) rolled a 206.
- Valpo's high score of the day came in the fourth match slot, and the Beacons needed every bit of it for a 1009-996 victory over #15 McKendree. Webber rolled a 216, Peytin Brake (Kent City, Mich./Kent City) and Alyssa Marlowe (Fort White, Fla./Fort White [Mount St. Mary's]) combined for a 213 and Alexis Wooley (Fort White, Fla./Fort White) posted a 201.
- The Beacons closed their perfect day with a 999-890 victory over #RV Central Missouri, as Marlowe rolled a career-best 245 game to lead the way.
- Valpo finished the day in second place out of the 15 competing teams with a total pinfall of 9,809 pins.
- Webber led Valpo individually on Saturday, rolling 1027 over the five games, while Struble also finished the day with an average above 200, rolling 1012 for the third 1000 day of her career.
