After spending two years on staff with the Valpo men's and women's swimming programs as a graduate assistant, Paula Chenquer has been promoted to a full-time assistant position, head coach Maggie Kroemer announced today.
 
In her two years on staff, Chenquer has helped guide the Valpo women to their top two point totals at the conference championship meet since joining the Missouri Valley Conference. On the men's side, the Beacons' 2024-25 MVC championship meet finish was its best at a conference championship meet since 2005-06.
 
13 of Valpo's 36 individual event records have come from the two seasons Chenquer has been on staff, as well as one relay record. In all, 92 individual times and 22 relay times on the programs' top-10 charts have come since Chenquer joined the program entering the 2023-24 season.
