The #18 Valpo bowling team picked up two more wins on Saturday as action continued for the Beacons at the Columbia 300 Saints Invitational in St. Louis.
 
How It Happened

• Valpo opened the day, contested in the traditional team format, by falling 1032-887 to #RV UW-Whitewater. Jen Patz (Naples, Fla./Naples) paced the Beacons in the opener with a 212, while Payton Rowley (Stewartville, Minn./Stewartville) rolled a 204.
• Peytin Brake (Kent City, Mich./Kent City) rolled a season-best 219 game in the second match slot as Valpo dropped its match against host #10 Maryville, 1013-921.
• The next two matches not only brought two Beacon victories, but also two career-best games as well. First up was Alexis Wooley (Fort White, Fla./Fort White), who posted a 256 in a 1017-844 victory over Lewis. Backing up Wooley's effort was Angela Webber (Harvest, Ala./Sparkman) with a 216 and Rowley with a 203.
• Next, it was time for Mia Kottke (Niles, Ill./Resurrection) to set a career high, as the junior rolled a 233 in a 984-835 win over Quincy. Wooley followed her career best with a 206 in this win, while Patz rolled a 204.
• Valpo ended the day dropping a 975-832 decision to #25 Central Missouri.
• Patz held Valpo's top spot in the individual standings, averaging a 193.4 over Saturday's five matches.
• The Beacons closed the day in 13^th place in the team standings with 9,533 total pins in the first two days of competition.
