The Valparaiso University men's basketball program was recognized for its academic success during the 2025-2026 season this week, earning a Team Academic Excellence Award from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2025-2026 academic year with a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
In addition, five members of the 2025-2026 Beacons were named to the NABC Honors Court –
Brody Whitaker,
Isaiah Barnes,
Joe Vick,
Owen Dease and
Shon Tupuola. The NABC Honors Court honors juniors, seniors and graduate students who finished the 2025-2026 season with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
