After battling through challenging playing conditions on Day 1, every player in the Valparaiso University women's golf team's lineup improved on Monday's second day of the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Championship, hosted by Indiana State at the par-72, 6067-yard Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo, Ill.
How It Happened
- The team's improvement from Day 1 to Day 2 was exemplified by junior Taylor Skibinski (Michigan City, Ind. / Michigan City), who turned in a team-best 76 (+4) in Monday's round. She improved her Round-1 score by 13 strokes and sits in 56th for the tournament at 165. Skibinski's score represented a new career best, outdoing her previous season and career low of 77. A birdie on the par-4 12th hole highlighted her day.
- Senior Anna Fay (Ada, Mich. / Forest Hills) continued to pace the team in her final collegiate tournament, bettering her Round-1 score by three strokes with a 78 (+6) on Monday. She is tied for 47th in the 63-player field with 18 holes to play at 159. Fay birdied the par-3 fourth hole and the par-4 16th hole on Monday. The 78 marked her best round in the last six tournaments.
- Three Valpo players enjoyed sub-80 rounds on Monday as Skibinski and Fay were joined by senior Madison Keil (LaGrange, Ind. / Lakeland), who is second on the team for the tournament at 162 (52nd) with one round to go. She bettered her score by four strokes in Round 2 with a 79 (+7). She finished the front nine by going 2-under for the final five holes including birdies on 6 and 9.
- Valpo's team score improved by 22 strokes to 313 (+25) on Monday. The team is 12th on the leaderboard at 648 (+72).

"It was definitely a different golf course today. I think we really gained some momentum heading into tomorrow. Hopefully, the seniors give it everything they have and finish on a high note."
