Olivia Bailey to Join Women’s Golf Program

Valparaiso University women's golf head coach Jill McCoy has announced the addition of Olivia Bailey (Rochester, Ind. / Rochester Community), who will join the program as an incoming freshman for the 2026-2027 season.

Bailey earned sectional and regional championships in both 2024 and 2025 before going on to finish tied for 26th at the 2024 Indiana State Finals and tied for eighth in 2025. She earned all-state honors in both 2024 and 2025 and was a member of the academic all-state team following the 2025 campaign.

Bailey achieved all-conference recognition in all four years of high school and established the individual nine-hole school record with a 32. She also tied her school's individual 18-hole record with a 67. Bailey owned a nine-hole scoring average of 36.33 and an 18-hole scoring average of 72.33. She posted a 75-77 in the 36-hole state finals, leading to her tied-for-eighth finish.

"I met Olivia two years ago at the high school regional tournament," McCoy said. "I was very impressed with her golf game and was fortunate to begin a conversation with her. Over the past year I have gotten to know Olivia a little more and had the privilege of watching her play. Her demeanor and game will bring Valpo Women's Golf to another level. She is calm and quiet, but very focused and competitive. I'm very excited to have Olivia join the program and to help her continue to develop and grow as a Division-I athlete."

Away from the golf course, Bailey has earned academic honors and was a 2025 Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) Ambassador. She is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the president of National Honor Society and a member of key club. She also serves as a volunteer special Olympics assistant basketball coach and a middle school golf assistant coach.
"I am excited to attend Valpo because I want to start a new chapter of my life and continue my academic and athletic career with people who share my passion," Bailey said.
