Jordan Rutkowski capped a stellar career on the softball diamond with one of the most prolific seasons in Valpo Athletics history as a senior in 2012.

Rutkowski was a First Team All-Horizon League honoree, earned NFCA Second Team All-Region accolades, was tabbed one of 25 finalists for the 2012 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Award and was named Batter of the Horizon League Tournament. She set eight Valpo single-season records — five of which she still holds today — and ranked among the top-30 nationally in five different statistics. Rutkowski helped lead Valpo to the winningest season in program history, Horizon League regular season and tournament championships and the program’s first NCAA Tournament berth that year.

She was a three-time All- Horizon League honoree, as she earned First Team honors as well as a junior in 2011 after picking up a Second Team award in 2010. Rutkowski ranks among Valpo’s all-time top-five in 11 offensive career categories and still holds the program’s career records today for RBIs (163 — 29 more than second), total bases (376) and home runs (32).
