Guedet to Join Valpo Women’s Basketball in 2026-27

The Valpo women's basketball team will welcome Washington, Ill. native Dani Guedet to the program as a freshman for the 2026-27 season.

"I am excited about what Dani is going to bring to this team," women's basketball head coach Courtney Boyd said. "She is a competitor who is coachable and brings a winning edge. Dani's love for the game and basketball IQ is going to be fun to coach. She grew up watching Valpo WBB and as we continue to create an identity for this program, Dani is going to help build that with her excitement of where Valpo WBB is headed. She plays strong with the ball in her hand, has a scoring mindset and isn't scared to play a little defense. We are ready to see what she can do with her time at Valpo."

Guedet helped lead Washington H.S. to the best season in program history in 2024-25. The 6-0 wing was a IBCA Third Team All-State honoree, averaging 12.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Guedet also picked up First Team All-Conference and Peoria Journal Star All-Area accolades as the Panthers won a school-record 36 games and finished in third place in the state. She currently plays her AAU basketball for Mac Irvin Lady Fire.

"The coaching staff and I have similar values in competitiveness and goals so that was a big factor for me," Guedet said on signing with Valpo. "I wanted to find a place where the people wanted relationships and to be a part of a family, and I feel that Valpo was that place. I'm excited to come home!!"

Guedet's ties to Valpo go back a number of years. Her family is close family friends with the Peters family, including former Valpo men's basketball standout Alec and former Valpo men's basketball graduate assistant Austin.
